Main focus of Claire's role and her area of expertise

Claire manages all aspects of the accounting function for JOIC.

 

Day to day responsibilities

This includes ensuring that all financial records are accurately recorded, producing financial reports and liaising with Government and Auditors on all budget forecasting and financial matters. Claire also manages the budget preparation process; reporting on variances, establishing and maintaining financial policies and procedures as well as identifying potential cost savings.

Claire ensures that we are fully accountable and transparent in all of our financial matters.

Career experience

Prior to this role Claire was the Head of Finance for Highlands College where she provided advice and support to the Senior Leadership Team. She was responsible for setting, monitoring and managing budgets, business cases and financial models. She also provided a Management Accountant Service to 30 budget holders, ensuring compliance with financial directives, securing value for money, reviewing and interpreting management and statutory accounts, advising on developing and maintaining financial system processes and procedures.


Before this, Claire was a Management Accountant for the Government of Jersey. In this role she was responsible for processing transactions, managing budgets, granting user security access, updating ledger systems, creating bespoke reports, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports and gathering and interpreting financial data.
