JDPA signs MoU with Office of Data Protection of Abu Dhabi Global Market

The MoU aims to foster cross-border collaboration in protecting individuals’ data and rights

The MoU is a testament to the JDPA’s commitment to collaborate with other key authorities on safeguarding individual rights and sharing best practice

The Jersey Data Protection Authority (JDPA) and the Office of Data Protection (ODP) of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of facilitating cooperation between both jurisdictions in the area of data protection and privacy. The MoU was signed by Sami Mohammed, ADGM Commissioner of Data Protection, and Paul Vane, Jersey Information Commissioner.

This MoU, which was initially signed in 2021 and updated in 2024, is further testament to JDPA’s ongoing effort to expand and leverage JDPA’s network of international partners and stakeholders. The processing and misuse of personal data is a global issue. Through cooperation and partnerships with key data protection authorities, we can bridge differences and build convergence for the interest of data controllers and data subjects alike.
