In Jersey, the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 gives you legal rights over your personal information and sets rules for anyone who collects or uses it.
Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 gives people the right to access recorded information held by Scheduled Public Authorities (like government departments, the police, parishes, and ministers). It’s designed to promote openness, transparency, and accountability, in how public bodies operate.
