Strengthening Your SARs Decision Making

13:00–14:00 4 June 2026

Members’ Room, Societe Jersiaise, 7 Pier Road, St Helier, Jersey, JE2 4XW

This practical, interactive session bringing our Subject Access Requests guidance to life, will help those processing Subject Access Requests to meet the requirements of the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018, including areas often misunderstood and the application of exemptions under the law.

The following topics will be explored at this session which will give organisations the opportunity to hear directly from the regulator:

  • When a Data Controller can refuse to act on a Subject Access Request.
  • What evidence the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner expects to see to evidence decision-making.
  • When the eight-week extension can be applied and why.

Let’s Go DPO is a support network from the JOIC giving Data Protection Officers and those that have responsibility for data protection the chance to network, identify and explore common experiences and engage with our office in a safe and confidential environment.

All are welcome at this session, which is free of charge.

Attendees can access the Members’ Room at Societe Jersiaise via Jersey Museum, The Weighbridge, St Helier, JE2 3NG or via Pier Road.
